Neck-lift

The neck-lift is a procedure designed to give an improved definition to the jaw line, reduce wrinklingand sagging skin, and remove banding in the neck. The procedure can be done under ‘twilight’ or general anesthesia depending on the amount of lift required. In most cases a small incision is made under the chin along with small incisions behind the ear. The fat under the chin is removed and the neck muscles are tightened to create a nice angle between the jaw and neck.  Sutures can be placed from the incision under the chin back to the small incisions behind the ear.   This suture suspension helps dramatically refine the jaw line and remove the look of excess skin without the need for any skin excision.  In patients with significant excess skin, larger incisions are made in the hairline behind the ear and the skin is elevated, tightened and excess skin is removed. A neck garment is worn for a few days following the procedure to maintain good contour of the neckline.
